Dust Settles

Thud goes my body
Eyes crossed from looking for witnesses
What should I do
What must I do
Lay and play dead
Scream out for comforting help
Place a smile of embarrassment
What should I do
What will I do
Silence already exist...
Time...slow motion
No need to look around
I'm already looking up
My God,
For heavens sake
My God
Gripping a palm of dirt and grass
Pull myself up, I must
Lean forward, I will
Like courage gathering the strength to stand firm
Knowing I am a beckon seen for eons
Dust off my clothes
Re-position my collar
Take one step towards business as usual
Although malfunction junction
Committed an assault on my mentality
It's time conflict and I collide
With silence my previous motion...
All I need to hear is my inner being
To the world your opinion is a fuel additive
To life I offer my appreciation for your snickering
Unfazed by the stones thrown by hypochondriacs
Bethink I just ascended
So if I am ever struck down on another occassion
Be mindful that I also know how to stand again
Spectators should be horrified
After the dust settles
